The African American Textile Society (AATS) is advising everyone to “Stay Fresh” today by purchasing frozen yogurt from Fresh Berry on Hillsborough St. Individuals who display the AATS and Fresh Berry flyer at the time of checkout will have 15 percent of their total purchase donated to the AATS.

While the members of the AATS are encouraging the N.C. State community to indulge in a sweet treat today, they will go a step further on Monday, and supply audiences with lots of eye candy at the 16th annual AATS & Local Designer’s Fashion Expose.

The Expose, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature the designs of 18 students. More than 50 models from N.C. State as well as surrounding campuses will take to the runway to display the designs, and Charlotte based rapper, NiGE Hood will also be performing. NiGE Hood has opened for rappers including Kedrick Lamarr and Ace Hood.

The first fashion show ever organized on N.C. State’s campus, expectations for this year’s Fashion Expose are higher than ever. “We are working extra hard to make this year’s show better than the past shows we’ve done, we want this show to be the talk of campus” said Lisa Redfern, President of AATS. “We want to start a tradition where students expect great things and a good time from this show from here on out.”

General admission tickets for the expose are $10 and can be purchased here, online. Members of the AATS will also be in the brickyard all week selling tickets.

The AATS 16th annual Fashion Expose is just one of the many events that will kick start this year’s 43rd annual Pan Afrikan Festival, themed The Essence of Our Metamorphosis. Also part of this year’s Pan Afrikan Festival is the National Pan- Hellenic Council Pan Afrikan Step Show, the Mr. and Ms. Pan Afrikan Scholarship Pageant and the Uninhibited Praise Gospel Explosion.
