It has been reported that the execution of Troy Davis has been delayed while the Supreme Court decides whether to grant him last minute stay.
Davis was convicted 22 years ago for gunning down a Savannah police officer.
Many protesters have surrounded the court house for many hours pleading with the courts to rethink their decision to execute Davis. The lethal injection execution had previously been scheduled for 7:00 PM.
Update at 10:30 PM: The Supreme Court rejected the stay of execution for Troy Davis.
Update 11:08 PM : Troy Davis was killed by a lethal injection.
Many people around the US are now questioning the United States Justice System and the death penalty. There have been many comparisons between the execution of Troy Davis and the acquittal of Casey Anthony who was set free in the case of the death of her daughter over the summer.
